You travel on the tube and everyone is dressed in dark colours, especially in winter, I believe that it’s a time when we should be wearing bright colours such as yellow,” says Leith. The Great British Bake Off judge has taken it almost as a personal mission to make the country more colourful – and has even brought out her own ‘‘Prue Range’’ of colourful glasses by Ronit Furst.“If women of a certain age do wear colour it tends to be shoes or a handbag, but people look at your face so I believe you should have colourful glasses and necklaces.”link to full article: https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/heritage/why-prue-leith-is-vowing-to-make-the-world-more-colourful-1-9992895  ...

poted September 3, 2019 on reality titbit by Helen Williams" Mary Berry’s replacement may be verging on 80 years old but she’s bringing some serious style to the show.Clearly not one to shy away from colour, Prue often opts for bright oranges, reds, yellows and more when it comes to her wardrobe. And of course, you shouldn’t ever just stop at clothing. Why not spice up your glasses collection while your at it? Prue also likes to add some off-the-wall accessories to her looks including big necklaces and earrings. Prue describes her love for colour on her website: “If you get off a train with 200 other people, they will all be wearing coats of black, grey, beige. All through the blackest winter, when we really need jollying up, no one wears the colours that would indeed, cheer them up. Sunshine yellow, orange, emerald, cerulean blue.” "link to full articel: https://www.realitytitbit.com/channel-4/gbbo-buy-glasses-just-like-prue-leiths-she-has-her-own-range-of-specs  ...

Prue Leith covered the front page of The Daily Telegraph recently showcasing her Pure by Ronit Furst collection.  “I’ve always liked bright glasses and big, vulgar necklaces. I’ve got 11 pairs of specs at the moment and I’ll pick 11 more (of the 72) from my Prue by Ronit Furst collection.”   You can read the full online article here: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/fashion/people/bake-offs-prue-leith-adding-fashion-designer-cv-79/ ...

published by MGAM 26/09/2017"Prue is the lady I want to talk about because have you seen her style? Bright colours, bold, chunky necklaces and not to mention some rather statement-making glasses! I have been obsessed with finding out what brand(s) of glasses she wears and I think after some investigation, I have the answer. Thanks to my husband who helped (probably because he was getting annoyed with me pausing the TV every 2 seconds). I was more into checking her glasses out than the show itself. ha! published by "my glasses and me" on June 26th 2019Prue Leith has been on our telly screens in the UK, mostly in a very popular cooking show, I think the nation tuned in every week not only for the baking.  They also tuned in to see Prue’s choice of clothes and accessories, especially her bold and bright eyewear.  I was certainly quite drawn to her eyewear myself.  Prue is a prime example of someone who wears glasses with confidence and believes that glasses should be part of your wardrobe. That is what I believe in too, and I am lucky enough to have so many pairs so that I can have fun with my glasses.Prue herself has been a fan of the brand Ronit Furst for over 10 years so this collection is a bit of a natural progression between them. Watch the video below to get the low down on this new collection. In the video I was only showing 6 out of the 12 styles available, plus each style comes in 6 colours! There is quite a lot to choose from.I hope you enjoy watching the video, I certainly had fun talking about the new Prue by Ronit Furst collection! ...

Prue Leith shares what her frames say about her personality and collaborating with Ronit FurstPublished: 20 May 2019 by Andrew McClean @ Optometry Today How many pairs of spectacles and sunglasses do you own?At least 10, not counting sunglasses. I regard them as other women do handbags. I pick a pair that goes with my clothes, or with my mood. Can you describe your favourite pair?Squarish quite heavy frames, colour blocked in blue, green, purple and red. One arm is purple and black and the other red and black. What frame shapes, colours or styles do you usually go for?As bright and as colourful as possible. Why is a colourful frame important to you?My glasses are so much a part of me that I don’t feel dressed without them. They also give me a mood boost. What do you think a pair of spectacles says about the wearer?I think spectacles say a lot about the wearer. I hope I am optimistic, quite original and artistic, up for fun and confident. I fear I am also a bit of an egotist.Who would you pick as your style icon of glasses wearers and why?Ronit Furst herself. She is a beautiful woman, elegant and intelligent, and her glasses show the artist, perfectionist and humourist in her.How long have you worn spectacles for, and what prompted you to go for your first sight test? For about 40 years. About 12 years ago, I wanted something a bit unusual and, faced with the dreary ranges of grey, rimless and black frames in all the big chains’ offers, I went to my local independent optician in Moreton-in-Marsh. He also had mostly sober frames and I said, “Haven’t you anything brighter and more fun? Red, bright green or something?” His face lit up. He said: “I’ve just had this brochure in from a new company. Have a look.” The brochure was Ronit Furst and I loved them.Do you wear contact lenses? No, why would I? I love my glasses. What did you consider when collaborating on your new eyewear collection with Ronit Furst?I can’t pretend I designed them single-handedly. Ronit Furst designed them with my input. We discussed what I liked, and she did a whole lot of designs and I picked the ones I’d wear personally. She has involved me in every stage of the process, including designing, and redesigning the cleaning cloths, glasses cases and marketing images. What are your top tips for choosing the right pair of frames?Be a bit brave and force yourself to put on a pair that you think is too bold for you. Then have a look in the mirror and if it makes you smile, that’s the one for you. And don’t worry if it “won’t go with everything.” It will.Link: Link to Original Article ...

published: June 29, 2019 by "Express""I think glasses are absolutely under-rated," she says, settling on to the end of her double bed - covered, of course, with a multi-coloured throw. "Everyone always wears boring black or grey or rimless ones because they go with everything."I always ask women what they spend their money on.And it's always shoes and handbags."But shoes and handbags spend all their lives in the cupboard or under the table, whereas glasses are on your face for 12 hours a day."It's a good point, which is why she has teamed up with designer Ronit Furst to launch her own range of 72 different colours and designs."It started when I was named 'SpectacleWearer of theYear' - which is a terrific joke because it's the only award one can win for doing absolutely nothing," she says."I've always worn colourful glasses and I love Ronit's designs, so I said I'd love to have a range of them. The next thing I knew, Ronit and her husband turned up in London." And the rest, as they say, is history.link to original article ...

published: 14 JUNE 2019 BY "THE TELEGRAPH" “It’s funny,” the doyenne television chef says of her new venture. “But people kept asking me where I get my glasses from. Then I won the only award I have ever won for doing absolutely nothing; Spectacle Wearer of the Year. My husband said he'd have preferred it if it was 'Rear of the Year', but sadly not. I love business so I thought this could be a good opportunity.”link to original article ...
